Alexis Loison and Jean Pierre Kelbert did it again! They pushed the new JPK10.50 Leon (Jean Pierre names all his racing boats “Leon”) to its limits and won not just their class, but they are the overall winners. They were so fast, thet the result is final before many boats finish. Even in corrected time it’s impossible to catch up!
Alexis Loison has won the famous race before, in 2013 competing again doule handed with his father. He joins a rare elite that has won this cup twice.
Jean Pierre Kelbert, is famous for his JPK shipyard, besides being a legendary sailor already. He was very excited, even before the boat was in the water, and he had faith in Jacques Valeur’s drawings. The legendary designer made a fast design, putting all his knowledge in this boat, and making some very bold decisions, despite being over 70 years old. The highly skilled people of the shipyard created a stiff and light hull, and all that was left, was for the duo to push the boat to its limits.
